So sorry to see that Bethanie had to retire. She played so well all week. She barely got a day off ! She played thru the qualifying rounds and also along the way she took out the number one seed.
Ana Ivanovic earns her first title since Bali 2011. Because it's an International event, it doesn't help her much -- but she does overtake Sabine Lisicki to earn the #15 ranking. And she will go into the Australian Open on a high note.

World No.15 Sabine Lisicki says that despite her success, it will be very difficult for her to live up to the standards set by fellow German and 22-time Grand Slam titlist Steffi Graf. Lisicki did well to reach the 2013 Wimbledon final, but Graf won that tournament on seven occasions.
