Rafael Nadal is back in Rio de Janeiro this week to defend his 2014 title, but he won't be able to steal the entire spotlight away from the other two ongoing tournaments. It is is another jam-packed seven-day stretch in the frantic February swing, with additional action taking place in Marseille and Delray Beach.
Rafael Nadal will make a third consecutive appearance in February's Golden Swing in South America when he takes the court this week at the Rio Open. Nadal enters as the defending champion, having won the inaugural Rio tournament by beating Alexandr Dolgopolov in last year's final.

The stretch run begins on Tuesday, with Rafael Nadal going up against familiar foe Tomas Berdych and Andy Murray hoping to stop the freight train that is Nick Kyrgios.

When Rafael Nadal comes out of a funk, he really comes out of a funk! Hard to believe he could still lose the #3 ranking to Kei Nishikori. Of course, if he keeps playing like this, he won't lose it. He leaves Kevin Anderson still at #15.

Well thank heavens for that chink in the clouds, a return to the norm … we don’t mind admitting we were properly exhausted after all the drama of Day Three at the Australian Open, and Day Four was a little happier. OK well maybe not for eighth seed Caroline Wozniacki.
There was something wrong with Roger Federer's hand in this match. At the time, at least, no one had a guess as to what -- perhaps an insect bite or a blister. It made things difficult early on, but obviously he got over it! He leaves Simone Bolelli around the #48 ranking he came in with.
