So is it Li Na, or Na Li, Na Li or Li Na, I can never get it right! Well after Saturday night in Melbourne you can just call her, The 2014 Australian Open Champion how about that? After reaching the final twice before losing tough matches to Victoria Azarenka and Kim Clijsters, she wasn't going to let another opportunity get away...
Don't know what to say really after watching the men's final Sunday night in Melbourne. Except this is what I have been wishing could happen at a grand slam for a while. I know the big 4 have dominated tennis for some time now but I kinda like that idea that more than just 4 guys have a chance coming into a slam to win.
The Australian Open is well into its second week and we found out tonight that we will have a new mens champion. As Stanislas Wawrinka took out the 3 time defending champion Novak Djokovic, in a dramatic 5 set marathon win.

Today was a long one. For the first time all tourney the heat rule came into affect and pushed tennis back in to the wee hours of the night. The day concluded with 5 setters spread all over the grounds, the upset of the tournament so far was my guy Del Po going out in the 2nd rd.
Its hot out! Or at least thats what everyone is saying, tweeting, insta-gramming, and posting screen grabs of the weeks forecast of. I don't know, except for my walk into work this morning I spent all day in the ESPN production truck working on the telecast of the days matches, but from what I could see, it was a steamy one!
