Back in action on Friday in Captiva at the Women’s Pro Classic $50,000 USTA Pro Circuit Event at South Seas Island Resort were six American players in the Singles Quarterfinals including Nicole Gibbs, Julia Cohen (seed #6), Jessica Pegula (seeded #8), Allie Kiick and Julia Boserup.
Wednesday’s matches and line-up of American tennis stars playing at the Women’s Pro Classic turned out to be an exciting day of tennis on Captiva at the South Seas Island Resort with local Lauren Embree, Melanie Oudin, Victoria Duval and Taylor Townsend all in action today.
Top seed Caroline Wozniacki beat hometown player Mandy Minella 6-3, 7-6(2) to lead the tournament elite into the second round.
