Rafael Nadal will be looking to get back on track when he resumes his clay-court spring this week at the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell. That is exactly what Nadal managed to do in 2013, when he lost the Monte-Carlo final to Novak Djokovic then captured the Barcelona title without dropping a single set. Last year, though, he fell in the quarterfinals of both events.
Three of the four highest-ranked players in the top half of the Miami Open draw successfully navigated their ways to the quarterfinals. Milos Raonic nearly made it four for four, but John Isner crashed the party. The result is a Thursday slate featuring Novak Djokoic vs. David Ferrer and Isner vs. Kei Nishikori.

The Davis Cup may be a team competition but it is never short on individual heroics. The first round of 2015 World Group action was certainly no exception. Four players won a pair of live singles rubbers in their respective ties--three of the four en route to team victories.
Japan's marketing machine Kei Nishikori has picked up another sponsor, with the Asian ace to begin promotion on a non-alcoholic beer in the build-up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The ATP No. 5 is being hyped as the face of the Games for his various line-up of national sponsors.

Andy Murray kicked off his ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament campaign on Wednesday with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Nicolas Mahut in the first round. The Australian Open runner-up broke serve on four occasions--exactly half of the time--before advancing in one hour and 33 minutes.
In terms of quantity, no month on the tennis schedule is busier than February. And things really heat up this week in Rotterdam, Memphis, and Sao Paulo. Rotterdam is especially loaded, with Andy Murray, Milos Raonic, Tomas Berdych, and Stan Wawrinka all on board.
The Australian Open has come and gone, with the Happy Slam giving way to what is often perceived as a not-so-happy month in the tennis world. In a sense, we are in the calm after the storm. Then again, this is also the beginning of what is by far the busiest month on tour—not in terms of quality, of course, but without question in quantity.

Wednesday's lineup at the Australian Open is a scintillating one on both the men's and women's sides. Each of the top players in the world--Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams--is in action. Also taking the court are Venus Williams, Madison Keys, and defending men's champion Stan Wawrinka.
Nick Kyrgios isn't the only unseeded player still alive at the Australian Open. Two others will be in action on Monday, with Gilles Muller and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez looking to continue their runs to the second week by pulling off fourth-round upsets. But there is bad news for both: they are going up against the two most recent champions of this event.
