All of the top four seeds in the top half of the BNP Paribas Open draw have advanced to the quarterfinals. Somewhat surprisingly, it was Jo-Wilfried Tsonga who reached the last eight in the most routine fashion, refusing to donate even a single set along the way.
Milos Raonic's prospects of reaching the BNP Paribas Open quarterfinals were not particularly encouraging heading into the event. David Goffin's chances of making a quarterfinal run looked grim at various times in the second round, the third round, and the fourth round.

The 2016 BNP Paribas Open men’s singles draw ceremony was held on Tuesday afternoon. Thanks to Roger Federer’s withdrawal because of a knee injury, Rafael Nadal bagged a top-four seed to avoid any chance of facing Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals.
