Tennis tournaments seem to schedule a variety of matches that are not to be missed for one reason or another. As always, everyone has favorites.
Roger Federer made a great escape in the first round of the Gerry Weber Open on Monday, outlasting Philipp Kohlschreiber 7-6(8), 3-6, 7-6(5). Federer fired 15 aces and needed two hours and 11 minutes to keep his title defense alive.
The Gerry Weber Open began in earnest on Monday, June 15, 2015. The event has been in existence since 1993. The tournament itself was the end product of a dream that Gerry Weber had.
