Greetings – Global Chick here, back after jaunts around Australia! Saw a kangaroo or two. Spotted a koala, and… experienced the whole Four Seasons In One Day they always sing about in Melbourne! From summer to winter !
Global Chick here and reporting and still really suffering from the jetlag. It still stalks like a lion who hasn’t had a snack in quite a long while (rather like a good night’s sleep!). The tennis players feel it too.
It’s official — 2016 is here but as the New Year gets under way Down Under, the names and faces on the WTA top 10 rankings remain the same.

It has often been said that we should appreciate our great champions (Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, Venus Williams) while we still have them.
It may not have been the line-up that everyone wanted. It may not have even been the final that everyone wanted, and indeed after a veritably tutorial handed down by Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza to Carla Suarez Navarro and Garbine Muguruza earlier in the day, we needed a good final.

After the rollercoaster of emotion yesterday as Maria Sharapova closed the curtain on Flavia Pennetta’s career, it was down to the business of concluding the final round robin sessions.
