One of the perquisites of being a tennis journalist is that I am able to steal a look at players’ who haven’t quite made it to the forefront of the tennis “scene” – yet.
More blue sky, and a stacked day on the big two courts, but our peace and solitude was disturbed but the sounds of upset klaxons ringing in the air.
In a pleasing change from the ubiquitous pink Nike wear (sported by her opponent Vitalia Diatchenko) a still coughing and spluttering Maria Sharapova rocked les bleus et les blancs again to keep her defence intact.
