Vodka martini. 100proof. Ice cold. I'm diving in. But not before I toast my dear friend Gussy (Gussie) Moran. She loved martinis and margaritas with salt. Whew. Either too much vermouth or that 100 proof vodka. Wow. Ok. This should be a great post. Deb from the Marina is going to love this one.

It took a pair of top 10 players to send Donald Young Jr. and Steve Johnson packing from the BNP Paribas Open. Two of the four American men to reach the third round in Indian Wells, Young and Johnson suffered respective losses to Rafael Nadal and Tomas Berdych on Tuesday.

DAVIS CUP TENNIS: U.S. VS. GREAT BRITAIN DRAW AND DAY 1 PREVIEW

The opening day of play in the best-of-five match series features each country’s No. 1 singles player against the No. 2 player from the opposing country. The exact order of play was determined at Thursday’s Draw Ceremony, which was held at Emirates Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.

The USTA and United States Davis Cup Captain Jim Courier today announced that top-ranked American and world No. 20 John Isner, world No. 45 Donald Young, and the world’s No. 1 doubles team of Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan will represent the U.S. in the 2015 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group First Round against Great Britain.

Donald Young maintained his winning ways with a 7-5, 7-5 victory over Ivan Dodig in round one of the Delray Beach Open on Tuesday. Young, a recent Memphis semifinalist, improved to 7-3 on the season after prevailing in one hour and 40 minutes.
