World No. 3 Roger Federer survived his Davis Cup challenge earlier today when he defeated rising Australian star Bernard Tomic 6-2 7-5 3-6 6-3 to level the Davis Cup World Group Playoffs in Sydney.

It was a big day for Australian tennis yesterday when Samantha Stosur crushed Serena Williams 6-2 6-3. Sammy is the first woman to win the US Open since Margaret Court back in 1973.
Tomorrow’s final between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic is something to look forward to. This year’s US Open has had the best of semi-finals with Djokovic playing Federer and Murray vs. Nadal.
