Isner can afford to go after breaks because he gets to sit down for a minute because he has to get up and serve.
I'm sitting here watching Isner go through his extended death rattle as he leads, 3-0 in the third set, but down 2 sets to love. I have a couple of thoughts to share with you about the unusual circumstances tropical storm Lee has created at this year's US Open.
I first saw Fish play at Indian Wells in 2001 when he took full advantage of his wild card entry to take out the 15th seed, Mark Philipousis. He was just a splinter and looked to be even less than his 19 years. But he completely disarmed Scud in my opinion.
Cincinnati predictions.... Fish vs Nadal, Murray vs Simon, Federer vs Berdych and more. Will the seeded players prevail?
We have slow motion footage of Ryan Harrisson it is amazing. Also I Sweeting is an amazing physical specimen. He doesn't appear to look anywhere near his listed 6' 5" tall on the court.
The final match that I focused on on Tuesday was the Johnson/Muller match. Again, I was going to be watching a match in which I had a bit of a personal stake, or at least a personal interest.
I got pulled into rooting for Kosakowski even though he lost the first set, but he came through with a great finish. Now on this next match, I can be more unbiased. I have heard a little bit about Ryan Harrison, but I haven't really seen him play more than a few points
Well, I got back to the Farmer's Tennis Classic after a couple of days watching one of my student's lose a long three set final in LA Junior Metropolitan Championships
It was a beautiful day for tennis in West LA today and the turnout for the qualifying matches was pretty good. There were at least a couple of hundred people there. Some of the tennis was really awesome.
If you can get out to see it, there are some great matches today at the Farmer's Tennis Classic qualifying. Lots of local talent as well as some great players from around the world.
If you are driving to the tournament by way of the 405, please check traffic advisories and shutdowns. When you do get to UCLA, be sure to park in Structure 7, as far south and west as you can
I look forward to reading Isabelle Rose's thoughts on the unfolding of this year's Farmer's Tennis Classic and how it holds up against her 10 years of memories. I too will be bringing you a blog on the Farmer's Tennis Classic.
