Azarenka and Radwanska already through to Quarters
It's not as clear as at Wimbledon or the US Open, but the second week really starts with the round of 16 and at this point you can really see how the tournament is shaping up.
But the real thing starts Sunday. Let's take a look at how the top players are lined up to begin their year.
Well, we are just a couple of days away from the real start of the 2012 season. Yes, I know we are already in the second week of the 2012 schedule for both the ATP and WTA World Tours, but these events are just preliminaries to loosen up some stiff joints and wipe away the cobwebs
It starts at 3:30 PM local time in Doha (converts to 4:30 AM in the morning in LA and just 7:30 AM in NY). Remember if you sign on to TennisTV at any time during the broadcast of the center court matches
I didn't get any response back yet from the support staff at TennisTV, but it turns out they are indeed streaming the Doha tournament to the US in spite of the fact that it is only an ATP 250.
Can't wait for the new season of tennis broadcasts to start? Check out TennisTV. They are already streaming the WTA matches today and they may even have Doha. (Normally, we don't get the ATP 250's in the US, but the way I read the website, Doha is only blacked out in Qatar.)
10sballs.com understands tennis is sometimes hard to find on regular TV channels.... So, it is great that their is an online live stream of the Davis Cup
Federer: he comes into the semis, fresh, healthy and playing perhaps his best tennis of the year. I thought his play against Nadal was some of his best ever
I know: it's indoors, the court is just right, etc, etc, ...but that has to be the best I've ever seen Federer play against a quality opponent.
Berdych and Fish both up a break in the 3rd but can't close the deal on Nolé and Rafa.
My prediction for next week is Federer beats Djokovic in the semis and plays Murray in the finals after Murray beats Tsonga in the semis
You heard it here first. Fish has qualified for London's ATP Finals, whether or not he wins against Monaco today. Tsonga, too! The ATP dropped the ball again in failing to properly release the updated standings
I looked at that point again and if he had just gone inside-in to the deuce corner, he'd have gone over the lower part of the net and we wouldn't have to be in mourning. We'll nobody died, but a quest for another major just did.
Murray forced Isner to play a 6-point 5-6 service game. Isner did not get to sit down before they started the tie-breaker. Murray went to work on him in the first point with a drop shot.
