Labor Day became a day of waiting as rain disturbed play most of the mid day of Labor Day Monday. Never easy for any competitor playing in any match let alone a 4th round at a grand slam like the US Open. Everybody knows how hard it is to keep your focus and remain calm and patient as you are waiting around for a match to Finnish or to get on the court!

Most of the matches lost on such day are lost during the time the player is waiting and loosing energy on eating taking and complaining about situation they are not able to control!

At this stage of the tournament it is all about doing less is better than more!

During the rain delay team Ana was relaxing while the courts were being dried! (Still don’t understand why they do not cover the courts)

At one stage the match of Ana was postponed to the next day as there is also a night session that needs to be played and they did not want to move this particular match on an outside court!

In the mean time Dani had to wait around for the rain to stop but the experience payed of and was victorious in 3 sets! Daniela is back in the quarter finals of the US Open for the first time again since 2002!

Now back on the 8 am bus for the match of Ana and Vika starting at 11 on Arthur Ashe!

To be honest I never ever attended a full weekend of Davis Cup. So that is why I needed to take my parents as they also never experienced this phenomenon.
