US Open 2013  |

This is where it starts and like always it starts with getting a credential! For the past 8 years we have been working on getting the status of being an added value to the sport of tennis. However we still are not recognized by the world wide tennis organizations. I am talking about the adidas player development program.

As a program we have don’t get the privilege of getting a credential through the tournament for the work we do with and for the players and indirectly for the sport of tennis.

We are dependent on the good will of the players to provide us with a credential. Since most of the players have their own support system, it is a mere balancing act of which player can provide us with a credential.

This year Ana has been so kind to provide me with a credential that gives me access to the player areas so I can provide the services that I am requested to do.

Of course after all these years the staff of the tournament receive us with open arms and assist us in any which way they can and will always give us the best possible assistance.

From the Bus coordinator to the practise court personal, court attendance, ball boys and girls, and Judi in the referees office they all are friends we are happy to visit with each year. It is like coming home. After all after coming here over the past 20 years I spend more than 1 year of my entire life at the US open.

Visiting the site today for some practices and catching up with a multiple of people I found these very interesting subjects! The court cross section of the US Open gives you the detail of which over the next 3 weeks the world of tennis will be playing and millions of people watching.

Zoom in to get a the detailed description

Today in the players lounge the technology is always improving and you can see the importance of the hand held devices we are all using.

But I also spend a few hours on court and also on one of my favorite practise/warmup courts P1 where we have the perfect view of the Tennis Temple. Which I believe will be getting a roof in the near future.

Tomorrow will be day 2 at the open and I can’t wait and 1 day away before the qualifying event starts!
