Day 9 started very early after coming back very late from the match and booking the court! As I am writing this blog it is even later now and it is 1 AM.
When your day starts with 8 am practise you can call this a long day. I got to the site at 7:30 that is 17.5 hour day! This may be my record while working in the adidas player development program.
Earlier in the week I had asked Monica Puig for a picture with me with the tournament sponsor and her country Porto Rico but we did not get a chance so I just had to pretend she was there.
You could see on this picture how low the sun still was when Caroline had her warmup this morning by the shadow she created on center Court!
During the day it was a good time to catch up with Darren Cahill about the status of all out players. plus had tome to say my goodbyes to Kiki Mladenovic, who had a workout in the morning as well! But this time in the gym!
The first night match was a beauty and I went up to the media center to get a birds eye view of the center court!
It was a full house but during the beginning of the match of Caroline and Vika the crowds had slimmed down.
Unfortunately Caroline lost in 2 sets but was up a break in the second. However this time Vika was to strong!
Tomorrow I will travel to NY where Ana Ivanovic is ready to prepare for the US Open!
Thanks for all the people here in Cincinnati for making it another great year of tennis and look forward to come back next year!
