the Under Armour brass has this to say about sponsoring :

“We couldn’t be happier with her progress,” , Under Armour’s head of sports and brand marketing, told the Washington Post. “We’re becoming more of a global brand. And when Sloane played Serena in the round of 16, it was basically a two-hour Under Armour commercial.”

Under Armour sponsors and said in the Washington Post that when Sloane played Serena Williams it was basically a two-hour Under Armour commercial.

. . San Diego resident and two-time Grand Slam winner Rod Laver of Australia was at the Southern California Open watching Martina Hingis play. . . Robby Ginepri had a procedure to fix a heart arrhythmia on Wednesday but is planning to be on the court next week. . . Victoria Azarenka turned 25 on Wednesday and not only posted a victory – her first since withdrawing from her Wimbledon with an injury – but was surprised with a few presents from her friend and boyfriend, the electronic music star RedFoo. . . Ana Ivanovic explained her split with coach Nigel Sears: “That was big change, but I really felt like I needed it because it was good, but I was stuck in the same place and I really needed to make a transition and I needed to hear a fresh voice. Alisa Kleybanova, who has battled cancer, will make her WTA return next week when she uses her special ranking to get into Toronto. Kleybanova was named WTT’s Rookie of the Year. . . Martina Hingis is still waiting to be asked to play US Open mixed doubles. She wanted to play with Leander Paes, but her doubles partner, Daniela Hantuchova got to him first.
