Final Quotes

Roberta Vinci: “I played so well today. I played very well in the first set, but Sara started to play much better in the second set. Starting the third set I was 4-0 up and had a lot of chances for 5-0 but lost the game and started to get a little bit nervous, but at the end I won, so I’m really happy. I played an unbelievable match today. I knew I had to – Sara is an unbelievable player. I live here and practice here at this club, so winning here is fantastic for me. I really didn’t expect to win this tournament, especially with Sara in the final, but I played great.”

Sara Errani: “My opponent was just too good for me today. I tried to play my best but Roberta was exceptional. I hope that the crowd enjoyed the match, because Roberta, myself and all the Italian players really love the tournament always try and put on a good show. I hope we can continue to come back here for many years to come.”
