The Spanish Tennis Federation has published a book called “541 Smiles” which tracks the golden age of Spanish tennis. The federation put on an exhibition to celebrate its publication that featured former Wimbledon champion Conchita Martinez and former Roland Garros titlist Albert Costa.
The book, which is written by Juan Jose Almagro, the honorary president of the Spanish Tennis Federation and CEO of Communication and Social Responsibility Mapfre, reviews the recent history of the “Armada’ through photos and text. Not only are Martinez and Costa’s triumphs mentioned, but so are those of Rafa Nadal, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Carlo Moya and Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario, among other.
The number 541 volume’s title refers to the number of tournaments that are documented in the book, held during the last twenty years.
