Spanish clay court specialist Nicolas Almagro will play at the 2013 POWER HORSE CUP: The organizers have announced that another world class player will be competing at the première of the ATP Tournament at the Rochusclub, Düsseldorf (May 19-25, 2013). Almagro, who was world ranked No. 10 in June 2012, has won all his 12 ATP singles titles on red clay. He celebrated his last Tour title in Nice, France, in May last year.
The Spaniard has made a good start to the new season. Playing in 2013¹s first Grand Slam in Melbourne, Australia, the 27-year-old made it to the quarterfinals before he was eventually ousted by compatriot David Ferrer in a thrilling five-set marathon.
Murcia-born Almagro has already made his marks on the Rochusclub Düsseldorf:
In 2007 and 2009 the right-hander was a member of the Spanish squad that competed at the World Team Cup.
Apart from Almagro, the following players have already confirmed their participation at the 2013 POWER HORSE CUP: Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia, No. 9 in the ATP rankings, Germany¹s No. 1 Philipp Kohlschreiber (No. 19) as well as compatriots Benjamin Becker (No. 56) and Tobias Kamke (No. 89).
