Grand Slam winners Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray have helped pace Head racquets to the top of an unofficial ATP list for success during the just-concluded 2012 season.

According to numbers crunched by The Tennis Space, the Australian Open title of world No. 1 Djokovic, the breakthrough win by Murray at the US Open plus the French Open trophy from Maria Sharapova gave the marque a solid hat-trick of success at the majors. The company total was one fewer than the four Slams earned by Wilson through Roger Federer, Victoria Azarenka and Serena Williams.

But Head took the biscuit over the course of the season at the big events as a whole, as the British website tallied up the 2012 titles, finals, semi-finals and quarter-finals of all the major brands at the four majors.

According to that table, Head totaled a winning 230 points under a system awarding 50 points for a singles champion, 25 for a runner-up, 10 for a semi-finalist and 5 for a quarter-finalist. The total edged out Wilson by 10 points.

The Austrian company also took top marks for the number of players in the ATP Top 10, with four: Djokovic, Murray, Berdych and France’s Richard Gasquet. The next best was Babolat and Wilson on two each.

It was the same story in Top 20 representation (six, level with Wilson) and Top 50 (14, Wilson on 12).
