Geezers favorite male player ever till RF. Sort of wonder how Pancho would play with today’s equipment. The shoes he wore were canvas with no support and not much of a sole. The socks. Again no compression or support. The clothes. Always looked crisp and beautiful in his athletic body style. His rackets. Wood and then To The Spaulding “Smasher” (yes geezer had to have one too) to some graphite rackets.
But really. It’s about the shoes. The rackets are the biggest change. And Then there’s These new strings. I can only imagine Pancho playing with these new strings that “hold” the ball. Now everyone can do super spins and “Bend it like Beckham”… Wow.
