Li Na Doesn't Give In To Pressure

Li Na, who suffered an embarrassing defeat in the first round of the China Open’s last year, says that she feels more at ease this time around.

“I don’t give in to too much pressure, because after all you never know how your performance is going to be,” she said. “You don’t know the performance of the opponent either.” What really matters is you can experience the whole match and concentrate.”

The 30 year old also declared that she would like to work with her new coach Carlos Rodriguez until she retires. Li hired Justine Henin’s former coach just before the Montreal tournament in early August and has played pretty well since then.

“Last year my form was kind of like roller coaster, and I’m more consistent this season,” she said. “Carlos has confidence in me and he has started to give tactic advice to me, which helps a lot. I really wish I can cooperate with him until retirement.”
