Rafa Doubtful for Davis Cup Match
Maybe Rafael Nadal will be on the bench supporting his team. But , will he be playing ? Highly doubtful. The format of 3 out of 5 sets ( which I’m a fan of , I think … ) would be way too much for his knee. The Spanish team has tremendous depth. They like the French could field two teams.
Hopefully Rafa will be back playing indoors on the carpets. Maybe Shanghai in October. Or Paris also in October. And hopefully London for the ATP world tour finals at the o2 arena in November.
Many in the tennis world are surprised his body ( knees especially ) held up so long. His game is so physical. He changes direction and lacks the flexibility of Novak. ( who has it ? No one ) He is like ” Gumby “. He is like “spiderman” or “stretchy man.” …he really can reach and practically do the splits. …
But Rafa. He is just a bull. A raging bull. A raging bull with at least one bum knee… Bummer.
Weird fact : Rafa used to wear his shoes too small ? Not sure why ? It’s a soccer thing ? Weird but it couldn’t have helped his stability on his knees to have his tootsies ( toes) all squished into his tennis shoes ?
Rafael Nadal one of the toughest competitors tennis has every known. Ever. This golden age. The last golden age. Any golden age. Rafa is a fan favorite and a favorite among his fellow competitors.
