Federer and Murray Differ on How to Relax After Wimbledon

Seven-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer and losing finalist Andy Murray could not have chosen more contrasting post-Grand Slam holidays, with the Swiss soaking up restful sun while fellow tennis millionaire Murray got caught out by Britain’s summer weather misery.

Federer, holder of a record 17 Grand Slam singles titles, beat Murray last weekend at the All England club under the closed roof of Centre court. But Murray stayed around this week in Britain while Federer and his family escaped to a villa in Sardegna.

Paparazzi photos of both players showed a marked contrast, with Federer and wife Mirka pictured lounging on a yacht during a day trip from Porto Cervo to neighboring islands. While the pair were not full of smiles, they still looked happier than Murray.

The Scottish four-time losing Grand Slam finalist and his girlfriend were caught by the paps both in their local village in Surrey as well as in west London’s Kensington area.

Murray, slumping around in his trackies and hoodie, was pictured walking one of the couple’s his dogs, with the No. 4 then posing for a photo with a thrilled passerby. But another photo set documented the downpour which left Murray and Kim Sears running for safety of their car with the food shopping in hand.

Murray, who shed tears after his loss in the home final, had spoken of getting away to his Miami flat but has so far not budged from rain-soaked and chilly Britain.
