Final Quotes
Melanie Oudin: “I played smart today. I’d hit one shot then hit a totally different shot like a slice or drop shot. I also held my ground well and used her pace. She’s really consistent but by doing all that I got her to make some errors. I don’t think she served as well as she did yesterday, but I’ll take it. I’ve learned a lot about my game, how I want to play, how to play within myself and not trying to do more than I can. That’s what I did really well all week.”
Jelena Jankovic: “Melanie played very solid. She didn’t really give me much and was striking the ball so well, not making any mistakes. I had to work hard for every point but unfortunately was missing a lot. You have to give all credit to her – she played well throughout the whole week. Overall, I’m pleased with the week. It was my first week back on grass and to be in this stage of the tournament is always great.”
