Hello again,
I'm glad to be back blogging again! The weather here in Palm Springs has been
great, even though I heard tomorrow is supposed to be windy and colder. Watching
some doubles now later in the day, and it seems the wind has already started to pick up.I won my first match today against Ognjen Samardzic 6-1, 6-2. I played well and
was happy to get through. When I left Rancho, my possible opponents were about
to start their third set, so I am not sure who I play.A part of my day that I really enjoyed was driving to lunch. How can driving to
lunch be at all entertaining you might say? Well, my coach let my drive while he
watched another player play. Now, I've had my license and car for almost a year
now, but apparently it is "frowned upon" to let someone under 21 drive a rental
car. But if y'all won't tell, I think I'll be ok.A big shout out to Colette Lewis of Zoo Tennis, not for her writing this time, but for her
reminder to report the score to the tournament desk. My mind was still in Carson
where the officials did all that for you. Little things add up to big things,
and that was a big thing. Thanks Colette!Another piece of good news is that me and my fellow Indianians that I train with
were 5-0 today. Fight Hoosiers!Have a great day,
Ronnie
