Indian Wells to Miami  |

Another year in Indian wells has come and gone. I just said my goodbyes to my Parents at the airport here in Palm springs.

The days in IW were short lived compared to Caroline’s victory last year and having players like Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova loose her 1st match and so did Ayumi Morita.

Sorana won her opening match and is feeling better about her game.

So we spend a lot of time on court with the Girls in the early morning and later in the day. Since they had 2 session each this turns out to be the hard work on court for all of us. However it gives us the chance to work on the game of the players between 2 tournaments.

It is unique to have this time because having 2 tournaments back to back within 4 weeks it is like 2 slams back to back.

The draws are the same size but we have some byes as well so a couple fewer matches to cover.

The players had their workouts of court on the grass in front of the courts. The facility is the best in the world for practice and preparation for a next event. Maybe that is why we see so many upsets in the beginning of the event. This year many players also had to withdraw to “a bug” flew epidemic.

Heading to Miami today since there is a time difference of 3 hours and about a 5 to 6 hour flight it will be taken me all day before I get to Miami.

Looking forward to some Humid weather again after being in the dessert air for 3 weeks in Las Vegas and Indian wells.
