Singles – Semifinal: (7) K Anderson def. (1) J Isner 7-5 7-6(7-4)
The amazing thing about all the upsets here is how little difference they all make. John Isner was going to be #11 no matter how he did in the late rounds, and Kevin Anderson so far appears to have gone only from #36 to #35. He should rise to around #31 if he wins the title, though.
Singles – Semifinal: M Matosevic (Q) def. D Sela 5-7 6-4 7-6(9-7)
You could feel the nerves in this one. Marinko Matosevic had a match point, on serve, at 5-2 in the final set. He lost the next two points, hit a fault, and lost the second serve ball to be broken. Later, at 6-5 in the tiebreak, he double-faulted. It took him two hours and 54 minutes to finally finish this off. He has now increased his point total by more than 50%. He is defending a few Challenger points, but should still rise from #173 to around #125. And, of course, he is in his first-ever final.
