Victoria Azarenka has signed a long-term partnership with Wilson in a deal that Sports Business Journal estimates to be around $600,000 annually.
“I’m extremely excited to be changing to Wilson’s new Juice racket. The power and spin that I feel with this racket is insane and I look forward to seeing what I can do with it,” said Azarenka, who was playing with HEAD.
Azarenka will also accessorize her racket with the matching new blue Tour tennis bag and the Wilson Emotisorb shock absorber.
“Vika’s talent is undeniable, and she has been one of the tour’s most consistent performers. Our goal is to provide the best equipment to help elevate her game and help her reach her goal of winning her first Grand Slam,” said Renaud Vallon, global tour director for Wilson. “She is a very powerful player, with a dynamic personality and we are very thrilled to have her join the Wilson family.”
Wilson’s addition of Azarenka adds just another star player to its already impressive stable that includes the Williams sisters, Petra Kvitova, Roger Federer, Juan Martin Del Potro, Mardy Fish and Sabine Lisicki, among others.
The Juice rackets are said to be designed and developed “to enhance power and spin for a wide range of player types and skill levels. The new Juice offers a lighter-weight, more forgiving modern frame design in mid-plus head sizes to provide more power and more spin.”
Azarenka was said to have started using her new frame right after the WTA Championships ended in late October, which gave her enough time to get used to the racket.
