It starts at 3:30 PM local time in Doha (converts to 4:30 AM in the morning in LA and just 7:30 AM in NY). Remember if you sign on to TennisTV at any time during the broadcast of the center court matches (these matches follow one right after the other beginning at 3:30 PM), you can pause the playback and then go back and look any of the matches in that entire stream later in the day. Go to TennisTV.com for more information.

First match at 3:30 PM (7:30 AM in NY):

Malek Jaziri (Tunisia) vs Jo Wilfred Tsonga (France)

Jaziri is a wildcard so don’t expect too much for this match.

followed by

Rafael Nadal (Spain) vs Philip Kohlschreiber (Germany)

and Kohlshreiber got a win under his belt already by by teaming with Kas to upset the first seeds in the doubles, Fleming/Hutchins 2-6, 6-4, 12-10. The last German Rafa played was Florian Mayer in Shanghai and that didn’t go well for the number two player in the world.

followed by the main event for the day:

Nikolay Davydenko (Russia) vs Roger Federer (Switzerland)

They are recreating the matchup in last year’s final at this event. This will be a good test to see if Roger is back to the form he was flashing in running off his last 17 matches of the year after his disappointing loss to Djokovic at the USOpen.

followed by

Gael Monfils (France) vs Rui Machado (Portugal)

Monfils is always interesting!

Also interesting, Sergei Bubka (Ukraine), son of the former world champion pole vaulter (broke the world record 35 times) of the same name, has a wild card and plays his first round against qualifier, Grega Zemlja (Slovakia) tomorrow as well.
