Eugenie Bouchard (CAN) and Dominic Thiem (AUT) head the world-class field that will assemble at the Frank Veltri Tennis Centre, Florida this week for the 65th edition of the Orange Bowl, the last Grade A tournament of the year.

Bouchard, who is the current junior world No. 4, will be looking to pick up her second grade A title of the year after winning the Copa Gerdau back in March. The No. 2 seed is Yulia Putintseva, who finished runner-up at the Loy Yang Traralgon International and AEGON Junior International at Roehampton earlier this year.

Thiem will be looking to improve on his quarterfinal showing at last year’s Orange Bowl. Highlights for Thiem in 2011 have included winning the Gerry Webber Junior Open and making the final at Junior Roland Garros. The second seed is Junior Wimbledon runner-up Liam Broady (GBR), who will be keen to emulate the success of fellow Brit George Morgan who took home the title in 2010.

Two African players are among the seeded players for the event. Karim Hossam (EGY) is the No. 9 seed and Hassan Ndayishimiye (BDI) is seeded No. 16. Both players have had a consistent year with Hossam’s best result coming with a runner-up appearance at the Raquette d’Or, while Ndayishimiye won the SFAX ITF Junior Tournament and became the first player from Burundi to win a round at Junior Wimbledon.

Many of the game’s current stars are past Orange Bowl champions, including Roger Federer, Andy Roddick and Caroline Wozniacki, and some of the best junior players in the world will be hoping to add their names to that illustrious winners’ list. Daily results and reports from the Orange Bowl will be available on www.itftennis.com/juniors.
