World No. 1 Danish player Caroline Wozniacki will compete at the Hyundai Hopman Cup at the Burswood Dome in Perth for the first time. The 18 times WTA Tour winner will represent Denmark together with Frederik Nielsen.
This year’s field is very strong on both the men’s and the women’s side. France will be represented by Marion Bartoli and Richard Gasquet. Bartoli is currently ranked No. 11. She reached the final of Indian Wells this year and lost to Caroline Wozniacki in three sets. Bartoli also had a great run on home soil when she reached semi-finals of the French Open where she lost to Francesca Schiavone of Italy. Richard Gasquet the World No. 17 has amassed six career titles and has been ranked as high as No. 7.
Spain will be turning up in Perth with a very strong team of Anabel Medina Garrigues and Fernando Verdasco. Bulgaria will be first timers at the Hopman Cup this year. The team will feature Tsvetana Pironkova and Grigor Dimitrov both are up and coming stars on the ATP and WTA Tours.
