The Day’s Highlights

#2 Seed Ivo Karlovic posted a 6-7, 2-1 win when Denis Gremelmayr retired due to illness. #4 Bobby Reynolds topped Raven Klassen, 6-4, 6-3, while #5 Vasek Pospisil defeated Denis Kudla, 7-5, 2-0 Ret’d. The match of the day was captured by Robert Farah who outlasted Daniel Kosakowski 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (4) in a marathon match that lasted nearly three hours. Former doubles standouts Ken Flach and Rick Leach lost to Brian Battistone and Chris Wettengel, 6-4, 6-2.

On Wednesday, top seeded Ryan Sweeting will take the courts in the third match of the day against 2011 NCAA winner Steve Johnson from USC. American phenom Jack Sock plays his first match at 10:00 am against Alejandro Gonzalez and Sam Querrey will play Fritz Wolmarans at 4:00 pm.
