Spain and Argentina head the seeds for the draw for the World Group of the 2012 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas, which takes place in Bangkok on Wednesday 21 September at 18:30 local time (11:30 GMT).

The draws for 2012 Europe/Africa Zone Groups I and II, and Asia/Oceania Zone Groups I and II will also take place in Bangkok. A decision about the scheduling of the draw for 2012 Americas Zone Groups I and II will be made on Tuesday following the completion of the Americas Zone Group II tie between Paraguay and Peru on Monday.

According to the Davis Cup Regulations, the two finalist nations are seeded No. 1 and No. 2 in the World Group for the following year, and will be drawn in opposite halves. Seeds 3-8 are in accordance with the latest ITF Davis Cup Nations Ranking.

World Group

1. Spain

2. Argentina

3. Serbia

4. France

5. Czech Republic

6. USA

7. Croatia

8. Russia

The seeded nations will be drawn against the remaining World Group nations: Austria, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Sweden and Switzerland.

Seeds for the Zone Group I and Group II competitions are also based on the latest Davis Cup Nations Ranking.

Asia/Oceania Zone Group I

1. India

2. Australia

Remaining Nations: China, P.R., Chinese Taipei, Korea, Rep., New Zealand, Uzbekistan.

Europe/Africa Zone Group I

1. Israel

2. South Africa

3. Belgium

4. Romania

Remaining Nations: Denmark, Finland, Great Britain, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia.

Asia/Oceania Zone Group II

1. Philippines

2. Thailand

3. Indonesia

4. Pakistan

Remaining Nations: Hong Kong China, Lebanon, Pacific Oceania, Sri Lanka

Europe/Africa Zone Group II
