World Number one Novak Djokovic has had an amazing tennis year in 2011. The Super Serbian player has got it all – Great Speed, amazing returns and a fabulous defence game.

The 24-year-old started on the ATP Tour in 2003. He won his first tournament I Amersfoort in 2006 and he also won the Moselle Open in Metz that same year. In 2007 Novak was the youngest player in the top 10. He went on to win five tournaments that year, Adelaide, Miami, Estoril, Montreal and Vienna.

In 2008 Djokovic he captured his first Australian Open title. He also won The Masters Cup and the Masters Series tournaments in Rome and Indian Wells. Nole finished No. 3 on the ATP Tour rankings for the second year in a row.

The following year Djokovic reached quarterfinals or better in 19 out of 22 tournaments. He amassed five tournament wins. He finished No. 3 in the world for the third year in a row.

For the fourth year in a row he finished at No. 3. The Serbian number one player advanced to the quarterfinals or better in the four Grand Slam tournaments. Serbia took out the Davis Cup title when they defeated France in the final. He won Beijing and Dubai that year.

2011 – Winner of Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open. He lost his first match of the year in the semi-final of French Open to Roger Federer. After capturing the Wimbledon title he took over as the World Number One player on the ATP ranking.

Novak broke the record of most won ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournaments by winning Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid, Rome and Montreal. The Monte Carlo resident also got to the final of Cincinnati but he had to pull out due to injury against Andy Murray, this would be his second loss this year. The win/loss record is no 64-2.

2011 has also seen Djokovic earning more than $10 million dollars in 12 tournaments. A couple of days ago he received a cheque at the US Open for a whopping $2.3 million dollars. Novak is one of five players (Nadal, Federer, Wilander and Connors) who have won three Grand Slams in one year. Australian Rod Laver is the only player in the modern era to win all four Grand Slams in the same year.

We are looking forward to seeing Novak Djokovic finishing off this amazing year by winning the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.
