Final Facts
– Lisicki wins her third WTA singles title, after Charleston in 2009 (green clay) and Birmingham (grass) in June this year. The 21-year-old German improves to 3-2 in WTA singles finals, after runner-up finishes at Tashkent in 2008 and Luxembourg in 2009. Dallas marks her first hardcourt title.
– Lisicki dropped just 13 games en route to the title. This is the fewest games conceded by a tournament winner since 2005, when Venus Williams dropped 12 games at Istanbul (with 1r bye) and Anna Smashnova conceded 12 games at Budapest. All three of Lisicki’s titles have been won with losing a set.
– Lisicki finished 2010 ranked No.179 in the world, after missing five months with an ankle injury. She was ranked as low as No.218 in March this year. Earlier this month she established a new career high of No.21.
– Former world No.15 Rezai, currently ranked No.114, is now 4-3 in WTA singles finals. The 24-year-old Frenchwoman won Strasbourg and Bali in 2009, and Madrid and Bastad in 2010. She was runner-up at Istanbul in 2007 and Auckland in 2008.
– Alberta Brianti and Sorana Cirstea win their first title together. Brianti now has two doubles titles to her name while Cirstea has four.
