Novak Djokovic Demolishes Monfils | 
World No. 1 Novak Djokovic sealed a semi-final spot at the Rogers Cup in Montréal earlier today. The Serb sailed past Frenchman Gael Monfils with a 6-2 6-1 win in just over an hour.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will be the world number ones opponent in the semis tomorrow. Tsonga won 6-4 6-4 against Spain’s Nicolas Almagro in the quarterfinals.
Novak Djokovic faced two break points in the last game of the match today but it wasn’t enough to create any problems for Novak.
“I have played the best match of the tournament, no doubt. Everything was going well. I’m happy to see my game is progressing each day,” Djokovic said.
The Super Serb has only lost one match this year and that was at the French Open. He was defeated by Swiss Roger Federer in four sets in the semi-finals. Djokovic has won four ATP World Tour Master 1000 tournament this year, Indian Well, Miami, Madrid and Rome.
The Frenchman is looking for his first title of the season this week. Djokovic and Tsonga have faced each other eight times and Tsonga is leading 5 matches to 3. Djokovic did win their last meeting in the semi-finals of Wimbledon.
“The last match was very close, very intense, very important for both of us. He’s been playing better in the last couple of months. I think he increased his level. He’s an all round player. So, it’s going to be a tough one. It’s a fast surface and I need to return well and hope that I can get some chances,” Djokovic said.
