The Chicks in tennis make a lot of dough… Scratch… Moolah boolah… Money !

What an elite list… A dream list… To be on top of the heap list… What list? The money baby! That list

Maria Sharapova rakes in 25 million in endorsements. (Takes in) she is the highest paid female athlete.  Yikes and she barely plays and isn’t always a fan favorite. Love her agent. Max Eisenbud. Super nice guy. Oh.  Update from an intern here at 10sballs.com. That’s just an estimate of her earnings. Silly us.

Caroline Wozniaki was number two in earnings at 12 and a half million. “Miss Sunshine.” “Wozzy” win a slam and you’ll be number one in endorsements as well as rankings.  She also has a super agent. Love him. “J. T.” … John Tobias.

Venus Williams is next. At 11 and a half million. We are big fans. Hope she plays awhile longer.

Kim Clijsters in next at 11 million. We have loved Kim since she made it through Wimby qualies (Way back in the day). Way to go Kim. A great role model. Mom. Player.

Serena Williams is next with 10 and a half mil. We hope she stays focused and healthy. What an athlete.

Li Na is next at 8 mil. Wow. What an achievement. She should open the floodgates in her country. Bravo Li Na!

Ana Ivanovic is next at 6 mil. Oh Ana you beautiful goddess… Please settle in with a solid team.

Who is to thank for all this money in our little sport?

Every female tennis player has to thank the leader of the professional women’s movement that led to the tour. That lady was. Drumroll. Standing ovation. Ladies and Gentleman.

It’s  Gladys Heldman. The same visionary who launched World Tennis magazine in 1953.

Bravo to all the Heldman Family for being among the” Guardians of the Game” for over sixty  years.
