The most beautiful tournament setting on the ATP Tour calendar is at the Crédit Agricole Suisse Open Gstaad. The main draw event will commence on Monday July 25 and the finals will take place on July 31.

Crédit Agricole Suisse Open Gstaad will be played on clay and the total price money amounts to €398 250. The tournament has a rich history. The first event was played in 1968. The sinlges winner was Cliff Drysdale and doubles winners were John Newcombe and Dennis Ralston.

Last year’s winner Spaniard Nicolas Almagro will be back in Gstaad this year. Nicolas beat France’s Richard Gasquet in the final in two straight sets 7-5, 6-1.

The doubles was won Johan Brunstrom of Sweden and Jarkko Nieminen of Finland. The Scandinavian team overcame the Brazilian pairing of Marcelo Melo and Bruno Soares winning 6-3 6-7 11-9.

Switzerland’s own Roger Federer won the title in 2004 and was runner up in 2003 losing to Jiri Novak in the final. It was here Roger Federer was presented with a cow after winning Wimbledon for the first time in 2003.

Two wildcards have been handed out Swiss players Stephane Bohli and Alexander Sadecky. Bohli is a member of the Swiss Davis Cup team. Sadecky also received a wildcard into last year’s tournament.
