40 CHILDREN FROM SCO FAMILY OF SERVICES TO RECEIVE TOUR OF NATIONAL TENNIS CENTER AND RECEIVE TENNIS LESSONS FROM USTA TEACHING PROFESSIONALS
WHO: USTA Teaching Professionals and Children from SCO Family of Services, New York’s largest child and family services agency and partner of the Garden of Dreams Foundation
WHAT: 40 children to participate in the Garden of Dreams Foundation’s (GDF) “Dream Week” summer program (July 6-12). GDF works closely with all areas of Madison Square Garden – New York Knicks, Rangers, Liberty, Entertainment, Fuse TV, MSG Media, MSG Sports – to provide once-in-a-lifetime experiences for kids facing obstacles.
To help bring Dream Week to a close the MSG Sports group and the USTA will treat 40 children from SCO Family of Services to a special day at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, Queens. The children will start the day with a tour of the facilities including Arthur Ashe Stadium, before heading to the outer courts where they will all receive their own tennis rackets and learn the basics of the game from the USTA teaching professionals.
“Dream Week” is made possible each year with the help of Peter Wunsch, an accountant and Rangers Season Ticket Holder who was awarded the fortune of one of his clients after she passed
away. Her one wish for the use of her money was to ‘help make dreams come true for kids’ which Peter continues to do annually by funding part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation “Dream Week.”
