Maria The Great Warrior Falls At Wimbledon

Maria Sharapova of Russia holds the runners up trophy following her defeat by Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic in the women's singles final of the Wimbledon Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, in London, Britain, 02 July 2011. EPA/KERIM OKTEN  |

What happened Maria Sharapova? I’m shocked. I’m also not a fan of Maria….

Petra   Kvitova won 6-3,6-4. (She was seeded eighth).   Wow. Once Maria rounded the corner for the second week I figured the title was hers. After she made it to the finals I would have assumed it was a for sure the Championships was hers…

What happened Maria Sharapova? If I were in charge the engravers would have had half your name already started…. I might.

Might have been to almost the “ova” part. Yikes. Maria is had your name on it. Maria the great warrior. Maria the great fighter. Maria with the nerves of steel? Poor Deepa she is going to be in a bad mood all day. Poor us. We have to deal with her “grumpings.”

I’d rather deal with Deepa’s funk than whatever mood Maria the Diva’s frame of mind might be. Poor Max. Poor Sasha.

Petra is the first Czech to win since Jana Novotna thirteen years ago. (Info found on iphone app Wimbledon)

If you have a chance check out the Wimbledon website or App. The writer Ian Baker did a super job reporting the match with updates every few minutes. He really did a great job. It’s worth reviewing. Petra won the match at 40-love with an ace. A Wimbledon dream….. did Maria suffer performance anxiety like Roger Federer? Is it that once you’ve held that GOLD trophy it makes all others seem ordinary? Tell us. ? Sound off below.
