DOUBLES STARS TEAM WITH JOURNALISTS IN BUCHAREST - TECAU, ROJER, MONROE, SA, BOPANNA, MERGEA |

Tennis journalists spend their days writing and talking about the sport, but Monday in Bucharest, 25 writers had the opportunity to put their media job aside and take the court with top doubles stars at the BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy 2015.

Romanian doubles star Horia Tecau and his partner Jean Julien-Rojer, top seeds at this week’s tournament in the Romanian capital, were joined by Nicholas Monroe, Andre Sa, Florin Mergea and Rohan Bopanna as they played points with some lucky journalists.

“This media event in Bucharest is about the doubles players and about the doubles game,” said Tecau. “We have good doubles players here in Romania and we’re trying to increase awareness of the doubles game. We want people to know more about us and write more about us. That’s why we brought the journalists in Bucharest to meet us and play tennis with us and ask us a few questions. So they can know us on a personal level and in the future, we hope they can write more about doubles.”
