NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., June 9, 2011 – Tickets starting at $15 are now on sale for the 2011 Newport Beach Breakers’

World TeamTennis Pro League season, which runs July 5-21. The Breakers will begin the 36th WTT season at The Tennis Club at Newport Beach in search of the King Trophy and a WTT title.

Breakers fans who have attended matches in recent years will find famous familiarity on the court. Fourteen time Grand Slam singles champion Pete Sampras will play his only WTT match on July 9 for the Breakers, and Laguna Beach resident Lindsay Davenport will compete against the Breakers in front of her Southern California fans as a member of the St. Louis Aces during the home opener on July 5.

The current No. 1 men’s doubles team Mike and Bob Bryan will make their Newport Beach debut with the Kansas City Explorers on July 13 and current American tennis star from Thousand Oaks, Sam Querrey, returns to Southern California on July 11 with the Washington Kastles.

“The 2011 Breakers season will allow our fans to watch some of the best tennis players in the world, past and present, play in a more intimate, energetic environment while enjoying the same conveniences they have become accustomed to receiving,” Breakers executive director Jeff Purser said. “Our matches involving WTT’s marquee players have typically sold out and we are looking to have another successful season.”

For 2011, the Breakers’ return to an online ticket system that creates ease for fans to purchase and receive their tickets via the internet. The team will also return to Breakers Stadium, a first-class stadium built at The Tennis Club at Newport Beach (1602 E. Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach.)

General admission tickets for four of the Breakers’ seven home matches are sold as two-match packages. The “Pete

Sampras” package (good for the July 9 match vs. the New York Sportimes featuring Sampras and the July 20 match vs. Springfield Lasers) are $45 each. The “Sam Querrey” package (good for the July 11 match vs. the Washington Kastles featuring Querrey and the July 21 season finale home opener vs. Sacramento and the July 22 season finale against McEnroe’s New York Sportimes) are $22.50 each.

General admission tickets to the season-opener Breakers’ July 5 match against the Davenport-led St. Louis Aces –

“Ladies Night” – is $20. Tickets to “Couples Night featuring the Bryan Brothers” on July 13 are $40 for two tickets (or $22.50 for one) and tickets to the Breakers Junior/Family Night on July 16 vs. the Sacramento Capitals are $40 for a family 4-pack (or $15 each for 3 or less).

Aside from Sampras, the Breakers return favorites Marie-Eve Pelletier and Lester Cook. Joining them for the 2011 season are Anne Keothavong and Travis Rettenmaier.
