Help Save Tennis In Our Schools!
As you may have heard, the School Board is planning to selectively eliminate tennis and other varsity sports. This decision affects not only students in our , but all those in Duval County and neighboring counties who play competitive tennis. We ask you to join us and hundreds of people across the community in a silent demonstration on June 13th. Bring a tennis racquet and meet outside the school board office from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. on June 13th, which is the day the school board votes on the budget. This is not just for tennis players, but other sports as well! For more information on the demonstration or the proposed decisions, contact Terri Florio: terri@malwashington.com
Meet Our New Graduates!
This June, MWKF will say goodbye to our two seniors, Keanna Bell and Deshawn “Scotty” Brown! Both students have been with us since elementary school. Keanna and Scotty currently serve as MWKF Junior Staff members and are leaders to the rest of our student body. Keanna will graduate from Stanton College Preparatory and start college in June at Florida Atlantic University. Scotty is graduating from Lee High School and will attend Tallahassee Community College this fall. They have worked hard and will both be missed by staff and students. Scotty and Keanna have both received multiple scholarships. This year, each received $13,000 in college funding.
