FIRST-EVER US OPEN GOURMET FOOD TRUCK TO ROLL THROUGH NYC

Free US Open Dishes Served to the Public at

Bryant Park, Madison Square Park, and Union Square from August 11 – 13

US Open Celebrity Chefs David Burke and Richard Sandoval

to Include Signature Creations

The United States Tennis Association (USTA), in conjunction with Levy Restaurants, the official restaurant partner of the US Open, today announced that it will introduce it’s first-ever gourmet food truck that will roll through New York City on August 11 – 13, serving US Open signature dishes and new menu items free to the public. The US Open is renowned for its innovative food selection, which showcases flavors from around the world and utilizes ingredients from across the region. The US Open Food Truck will make stops at Bryant Park, Madison Square Park, and Union Square, giving fans a taste of the variety of food that will be served during the two-week event held August 25-September 8.

The food truck menu will feature cuisine creations from US Open celebrity chefs, David Burke and Richard Sandoval. Each stop will serve three items and the public will have an option to choose a menu item while supplies last. The following menu items will be served:

The US Open signature lobster roll
David Burke’s Filet Slider from Champions Bar & Grill
Farm to Fork’s chicken sandwich
Meatball slider
Hill Country’s brisket
Richard Sandoval’s steak tacos (new to this year’s tournament)

Foodies and tennis fans alike will have the opportunity to win prizes and receive giveaways at the US Open Food Truck, by using the hashtag #FlavoroftheOpen on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. Additionally, those who stop by the truck will receive a special Ticketmaster discount code to buy US Open tickets.

The US Open Food Truck will be making the following stops throughout New York City:

August 11 beginning at 12 p.m. – Madison Square Park
August 12 beginning at 12 p.m. – Union Square
August 13 beginning at 5 p.m. – Bryant Park

The food truck also will feature life-size cutouts of the 2013 US Open champions, Serena Williams and Rafael Nadal, for fans to take pictures with. In addition, fans will have the opportunity to take a photo with the US Open trophy, which will make a special appearance on August 11 at Madison Square Park.

The US Open is the world’s highest-attended annual sporting event, attracting more than 700,000 fans throughout the course of the tournament. Each year, the US Open expands its innovative dining options, with the aim of creating an exceptional culinary experience for its patrons.
