Grigor Dimitrov won the tourney in Bucharest. He beat Lukas Rosol 7-6, 6-1 to make that 3 ATP titles he has notched. His ranking will move up tomorrow when the ATP weekly rankings are posted. He is currently ranked 16. Will this put him in the top ten ? Or just near it. @ 22 years old we hope to be enjoying his talent and magic shotmaking for at least a decade to come.

Great to see the event is named after the 2 best male Romanian players that are household names in tennis. The brilliant Ion Tiriac and the mercurial Ille Nastase. Nasty did so much for the game of tennis while he played. He could be feisty and pure ugly or funny , His shotmaking was awesome. Tiriac did more for the sport once he retired. He has been a guardian of the game for 30 plus years. Sorry. We liked the blue clay. The court needed to layed down better. The clay needed more testing. But it was very cool and easy to see the ball on the tv screen. Even on a small tv you could really see the little yellow fuzzy ball.

We are watching Maria Sharapova ( yes she has Grigor and Sven ) play Ana Ivanovic. Ana’s wearing a blue dress that would look so nice sitting in that blue Porsche. A funny exchange with Ana and her coach. He said a bunch of stuff. She rolled her eyes and shot back at him. When Sven comes on court for Maria she doesn’t even acknowledge his presence. She is in her mode / zone. She just looks straight ahead. Our favorite was yesterday when the brother / coach of Jankovics. Her brother was caught on camera and on the jumbo screen coaching from the box. It was great even Jelena was watching on the big screen and laughing on the changeover. He was motioning to follow thru and stay down. Gosh Maria grunting, shouting, screaming, is too noisy. Maybe more so on tv than in person. ?

Maria takes out Ana in three sets. 3-6,6-4,6-1. From the moment Sven was brought on court to give her coaching advice. He said something about come on Maria this is a title match …. Well done Maria. Big congrats to Sven and to dear Max Eisenbud and how wonderful for her sponsor Porsche. That she is their 3 time winner. It’s the Porsche tourney. The Porsche arena. The Porsche brand ambassador won the tourney. Maria celebrated her 27th birthday there dressed in local attire. She celebrated with her Sharapova family all dressed in identical German attire. What a week. Porsche showrooms. Factories. Porsche test drives. Oh and the blue Porsche targa Maria gets to ship home. Build another car port or garage.

Onto the Federer’s. Where are they? What are they up to? How’s Roger feeling? The twins? Mirka? Best we can tell they are just really enjoying this wonderful time in their lives. How blessed they are. We know Lynette and Robbie are standing by with extra sets of hands to help out when the newest Federer or Federer’s are arriving….Is Mirka carry twins? We don’t know but we have thought so since Rogers first announcement. Roger thinks about every word he says in at least 8 languages. Check his wording regarding the news.

Roger may no longer be the number one player in rankings on the ATP. But he is number one everywhere else. Nike sales, fan bases, popularity, and as we told you EBay, number one. There are so many great RF hats. Bravo to Roy Sakaguchi. The colors all great. It’s fun when you see a fellow RF fan in the mall or on the courts. We hope that Mirka gives birth in time for Roger to be back @ Wimbledon.
