Gasquet Switches From Lacoste to Le Coq Sportif

Richard Gasquet, who has worn Lacoste clothing throughout his career, has signed a new deal with rival French company Le Coq Sportif. He was loaded with outfits from his new company when he arrived this week for his Qatar ExxonMobil Open appearance.

This is where the switch gets interesting. The new clothing deal did not begin until January 1, so when Gasquet was scheduled to play his first round match on December 31 he was wearing Lacoste clothing. He lost in the first round to countryman Gael Monfils so his new outfits had to stay in his suitcase.

In his next event, to be played in 2014, he will be wearing Le Coq Sportif.
