—That Serbia’s Janko Tipsarevic has admitted he may require surgery on the chronic heel injury that ruled him out of the recent Davis Cup final and he could therefore miss the Australian Open which begins in Melbourne on January 13. The 29 year-old has been struggling with the injury for much of 2013 and his ranking has slipped from a place in the top ten prior to the French Open to a current 36th position.
