FILA Extends Sponsorship of the Tournament

The Junior Orange Bowl International Tennis Championship announced today that Ashleigh Barty will be the 2018 honorary chair. The young Australian tennis star is currently ranked World No. 15 in singles and World No. 7 in doubles. The FILA sponsored star had an outstanding 2018 season, which included two singles titles in Nottingham and Zuhai, and four doubles titles including at Miami, Rome, Montreal and the US Open, the first Grand Slam title of her career. Barty also had the distinct honor of receiving the 2018 US Open Sportsmanship Award.

“The Junior Orange Bowl International Tennis Championship is a prestigious, internationally recognized tournament and I am so excited and proud to serve as the Honorary Chair for this year’s event,” said Barty. “Many top players on tour have competed in the Junior Orange Bowl and if tennis history has taught us anything, among this year’s participants are the stars of tomorrow.”

In addition, FILA has signed a multi-year extension of its sponsorship of the Junior Orange Bowl International Tennis Championship. As the Official Apparel and Footwear Provider for the Championship FILA will continue to provide the tournament t-shirts for all participants and create co-branded apparel for sale on-site.

The Junior Orange Bowl International Tennis Championship is the world’s premier tournament for junior players and has consistently attracted the top junior tennis talent from around the world. The 57th annual tournament will take place from December 9-18, 2018 at the University of Miami, the William H. Kerdyk Tennis Center at the Biltmore, Salvadore Park and Crandon Park on Key Biscayne. The Junior Orange Bowl is best known for hosting more than 7,500 youth participants in 15 athletic, academic and cultural events throughout the year. Editors Note : Funny the first time we saw the most famous FILA player of all time for the first time. It was early 1970s at Flamingo Park. He stood out. Those solid ground strokes on both sides. We think Martin Mulligan signed him soon after…
